Drying Rack

Attachment 16156 I was wandering what everyone else is using for drying rack. This is my drying rack. Electrical cable tray with removable all thread .

I like that. Bet that is hard to find thought? Now the all thread would be the easy part.
I may build one out of wood and then use wooden dowl's to hang the jigs on.

I like the idea of the all thread rod. The jigs are not able to slide around even if you bump it around a little. Good job.

Here is one my grandfather made years ago out of old clothes pins. He used it when he was spray painting jigs, I use them now when I am painting the eyes on them.

Slabologist,
I am going to try Grandpas' idea to put glow eyes on my jigs . I have been using an old styrofoam cooler and flipping it . Most good ideas have already been thought of they just don't get passed down sometimes. I bet your grandfather was a neat feller !!

Yes he was he hand carved his own crank baits and made the first worm molds that Stike king ever used. I still have all his old luers and molds from the first spinner bait molds that used safety pins for the spinner arms and several old one cavity worm molds.

I made one of your Grandpas' jig head holders and it works great for painting eyes on jig heads.Thank you for sharing his simple but highly effective idea.

I'm sure ole Gramps is up there smilling knowing that someone liked one of his ideas and it is helping them enjoy their hobby. Another good tip is to place you jigs in front of the heater vent after painting the eyes and they will dry alot faster.

Thanks for the pictures Slabologist, I have been looking for something to hold jig heads while I paint the eyes and this was just the ticket.:D

Lots of good ideas
This is the simple set up that I use for vinyl painting heads and eyes.

Materials list
2 chunks of scrap 1"X2" same length
3 or 4 deck screws depending on length
A couple pieces of craft foam- (it takes two layers between the boards.)
The jigs are pushed in between the foam pieces for a friction fit. It holds them very secure.
Has worked fine for me for a couple thousand jigs .ole Mike
I put an extra picture of a few jigs I tied with the heads.lol

I made a version of this to work on my jig heads and it works great... wish I could thank your grandfather for a wonderfull idea..thank you for sharing this in here. It sure has helped me out a bunch.:D
