I tried it and it worked but if you look real close you can see the different colors. Actually kind of neat looking. I mixed flame, Chart, and yellow. Turned out really good, don't think they ever caught anything, but looked almost like a funky marble or something.
Yes I did put some of this color in my Green paint.

Also the fish loved this color Saturday.

I've mixed colors several times. I wanted an olive so I mixed pumpkin brown and green chartreuse. It looks pretty good, but if you look close you can make the 2 colors out. You can lighten colors with white, too.
The technique works quite well. I have done it with good results.
And now i see that you guys have been keeping this a Secret all the time.
WHATS UP WITH THAT !!! and i thought we was all buds on here.
Now that's funny! I do not believe anyone ever asked the question in that particular way before. Anyway, that is an old method that has been around a while. Some folk stumble on it by accident. Others look at jig catalogs and try and figure a way to imitate something.Quote:

Skip found that U tube fly tying cartoon and shared it with us all on this forum in another thread. Buckeye Mike, yes I have used plumbers teflontape for slip bobber knots with great results. I have also used dental floss to tie that knot.Quote:

Hey Shipahoy, yea i am with you on the dental floss, use that all the time for my slip floats.
Hey on that knot that you show above, is that supposed to Slide on the line ? tried tying it, but it would not slide, tried it 3 or 4 times with the same results. THANKS
I tie it on a coffee stirrer straw and then slide it onto my main line. The way I tie it, it stays put so I know exactly what level my jig is riding. It takes ten seconds to tie so if I need a drastic change, I'll retie it. Usually I fish in 10-12 feet of water. I set the stop knot at about 3 feet. Crappies are always looking up to feed and that is a great starting point to start fishing at. You DO NOT want to be fishing below them.Quote:

Hey thanks Shipahoy
so i must have tied it right after all the way it sounds. I allways tie mine so i can move it, if i want to.
Kind of interesting that you can get the crappie to come up that far to take the jig. If i am fishing out of a boat, and can see the fish on the depth finder, i try to keep to jig a foot or so above them. THANKS AGAIN
If you are fishing 10 feet of water and the brush piles are sitting 3 feet off the bottom then the fish are only traveling 3.5 feet to get to your offering. That is not far.
They look up and see my jig and say ..............."There's Shipahoy41. It is an honor to be in the same boat as him. Get out of my way....I'm headed for Lake Crisco."
Yeppir................that's what I heard the last one say too.
