What did you use to weigh it?
Now that is a nice gill Joe!!!! congradulations! You wouldn't have caught anything on that pin anyway. lol Mike
I have a Berkley Digital hand held scale.
Nice gill Crazy Joe! What kinda of bait/lure were you using? How deep?
And it's accurate for fish that size? I'm asking because there was a recent thread discussing what scales would be accurate for gill-sized fish.Quote:

I just ordered a Berkley scale a couple days ago. Berkley FS15 digital tournament scale, Accurate within +or- 1/4 oz. I doubt I'll be able to hold it all that still, but pretty accurate. $30.00 range Mike
That's a nice one there!
I've been told the best way to catch 1lb. bluegills is to never weigh them!
It's hard to find them that big up here.I though it was a pretty decent fish.I didn't post it to become a pissing contest.Maybe some of you are scale experts and some of you can catch bigger ones.More power to you.I 'm not posting to be in competion with anyone !
I appreciate your sharing your catch Joe. There was a discussion a little earlier about finding a scale that could accurately weigh these little scrapers.
Unfortunately, it got carried over to your post. I found the scale I was looking for, but won't make my fishing any more enjoyable ,just satisfy my curiousity.
I think there is a genuine interest in finding that somewhat majical 1 pound gill.
Thanks again for sharing the picture Joe.I hope to share a few this season. ole mike
Yeah, Joe, I wasn't trying to give you a hard time. I'm just genuinely interested in finding an accurate scale.
My "hand held" digital scale is off by 1 tenth of an ounce. So if it reads a pound it's actually a pound and 1/10 of an ounce. By what it weighs on the "hand held" and than putting the fish on a MA cretifired scale. Also I guess some Digital scales are ajdustable ,so you can zero them out. Mine ani't that fancy! LOL :D
nice fish crazy joe.isn't every fish we catch that big?:D :D :D :D :D
Thats a nice 1lb+ gill good ice catch!!! thanks for the photo. I would take a bucket full of them any day.
Thanks
