Does anyone know how to view fishing hot spots maps from your computer??
Eagle/lowrance say they do not have anything. It sure would be alot easier to set waypoints etc. in the comfort of my home in front of a computer.
Thanks

I can do it using Map Create.
thanks
that is true for mapcreate 6, however lowrance said they did not keep that feature when the made mapcreate 7 and fhs elite. I was hoping someone knew of a shareware software or something, but thanks for the response IBNFSHN.
Glad you told me about the new Map Create. I was thinking about upgrading to it.Quote:

If it don't then PM my. turtle creek was my favor lake when I lived in Indy. Good luck........http://www.crappie.com/gr8vb3/showthread.php?t=47892
Whoa! I just paid $99 for MapCreate 7, and I thought something was wrong with my software, when it didn't show my 80+ Clarks Hill waypoints after transferring a *.usr file from my Lowrance!..
Sounds like I've been ripped off, because looking at my waypoints on the lake on my home computer is exactly what I bought it for!!

You should be able to transfer your waypoints to mapcreate7 if they are .usr files. You just won't be able to view your fishing hot spots lake.
crip47...what year version of hotmaps are you using with the lowrance emulators? I have the 2008 version and can see the states but it will not read the maps.
I have a 2004 and a 2007. I don't think it matters. You have to move the map over to the state you what. That state should be all boxed off.
Here's another poor picture. If you look to the lower right corner you should see the state I selected. It shows up as red lined squares..Then scroll over to the lake you want and zoom in..
can you tell me how?
I had to purchase Garmin Base Camp to use with my Garmin 78 and garmin map.
Thanks for mentioning Base Camp. Did you get some kind of premium version? I just downloaded & installed it and so far, it's free.
I got a GPSMap 76 several years ago and have thoroughly enjoyed using the device, along with Garmin's MapSource software on the PC. Last year, the 76 started to die & I got a 78 to replace it. First thing I noticed was that MapSource didn't handle the 78's data files very well. Tracks were OK, but waypoints had to be added in bits & pieces. It seemed odd that Garmin would not upgrade MapSource to keep up with their hardware products. Now I understand. MapSource was replaced by Base Camp.
