I need to go there and fish!
Bill
Don't knock carp! Some of us LOVE them!
This could present an excellent career opportunity. If the japanese government would supply food, bait, beer and ice I would do every thing I could to bail them out of the horrific situation they are in. If these were all bluegills and not green sunfish we could be talking some bulls. How long is the growing season over there? Hmmmmmm
Count me in! Gills and carp rule! :)Quote:

I think they should be outlawed!
Japs dont like bluegills? WOW
I still remember an old Outdoor Life article about how some people hated fish that others loved. The article started out with a guy who hated smallmouth and trout cause they crowded out his beloved redhorse suckers!Quote:

Check out the results from this carp tourney. The winning team (2 men) had 3,018 pounds (yep -- 1.5 tons) of carp in 50 hours of fishing. And they didn't even weigh fish under 10 pounds!

He also said those most of those gills are huge from nibbling on reminates of the feed they give the Koi.
He also reflected that the general feeling there was that gills are trash fish. lol
John, I think you're just trying to yank my chain on this, but you obviously don't know what you're talking about (again.)Quote:

You could watch one of their matches or, better yet, actually fish against them in a match. If you choose the latter, you will finish dead last. I guarantee it.
You could also check out the tackle and tactics of the Illinois CAG. They are planning their 2008 fish-in's as I type:

BTW, if you fish against those guys, you will also finish dead last.
Are you a paylaker?Quote:

Couldn't the Japanese just net up the bluegill and sell them to the Chinese? Then they could make something out of it, add lead to it and sell it in the U.S.
Really though, anytime an animal/plant is introduced out of it's native habitat, you run the risk of disaster. One example is the white perch. Eagerly sought after on the East coast, but in the midwest and great lakes, they're considered an exotic invasive pest. Flathead catfish get the same designation in North Carolina.
Yeah we have that problem here in California with Northern Pike. Some idiot put northern pike into a trout lake here which feeds into the California delta. They have spent millions trying to kill the pike and I still don't think they are all dead.
USED TO BE. NOT SO MUCH NOW. COST AROUND $160.00 TO FISH A DAY FOR THE BIG MONEY. THATS MY CRAPPIE BUDGET FOR A WHOLE MONTH.Quote:
