Have not heard much about it which means fishermen are more tight lipped than fish. And not real sure I know where it is. Seems like public access has been very limited last few years.
I wanted to Bolivar yesterday but I was helping most of the day with DNow at our church.

the lake is on U.S. 49 E at Thornton between Yazoo City and Greemwood. There are two concrete ramps on the lake. One of the ramps is behind a store, which most folks use. Ownership of the store has changed since the 2011 flood and has run down quite a bit, but the ramp has stayed in good shape. owner of the store charges a fee
Glad to hear from you, and that you’re still kicking!

hi jeff. good to know you are still around keeping everyone honest
I went to Bee Sunday. There was only one car at the landing, which is always a bad sign. Used to be cars lined up and down the highway when the parking lot was full and fishing was good. Anyway, I spider rigged in all depth water and all I could get to bite was gar. 10-20 lb range. Must have hooked 30. They would tangle 2-3 of my poles at a time. After 3 or 4 hours of this, I said the heck with it and left. My son and I used to catch the mess out of crappie there, 2 man limits of 60 this time of year. I used to love that lake, but seems it has changed.
Good to see you out and about wills

Some years ago. I saw a boat on Mathews Brake with an unusual frame in front and electrical elements in the water. It had an electric generator running. I knew in seconds that was illegal. I asked them about it. The man in charge said they were with the state. They were trying to catch alligator gar to transplant in Bee to control the carp. When Bee flooded carp from the river got into it. Carp ruin crappie habitat. That's why there's so many gar and few crappie. I don't know if Bee will ever come back. Perhaps not in our lifetime.[emoji34]

Yes, invasive carp (specifically Bighead, Silver, and Common carp) can ruin crappie populations by*destroying spawning habitats, eating eggs, and out-competing juvenile crappie for food. They increase water turbidity, destroy vegetation, and can cause significant drops in sport fish populations.*

Key Impacts of Carp on Crappie:
Habitat Destruction:*Common carp root in sediment, uprooting vegetation and clouding the water, which degrades the shallow, quiet habitats that crappie need to thrive.
Food Competition:*Invasive carp consume vast amounts of plankton, which is the primary food source for juvenile crappie, causing high mortality rates for young fish.
Population Decline:*Studies have shown that in areas heavily infested with carp, crappie populations have seen dramatic decreases, with some studies noting declines of over 45% for White Crappie and nearly 62% for Black Crappie.
Spawning Disruption:*Carp are known to eat the eggs of other fish and their foraging activity disrupts spawning beds.*

While some smaller, native sunfish may prey on small carp, the overwhelming biomass of invasive carp usually leads to a decline in overall game fish health.*

I wonder if it will come back in our lifetime. I've never been able to find crappie in gar infested water. Just gar after gar after gar. I hate gar. Like carp gar is trash fish.

I remember reading of the gar release some 13 or 14 years ago. There was also mention of 60000 crappie released in the same article. Sounds as though the gar have fared pretty well since the release. Wonder what happened to the crappie that were released.
