Where? I haven’t seen any. :banghead

Cagle’s out there hammering them. Joe partenza and Patrick stone are there also
It's my understanding not many folks fish for crappie in CA. It's on my bucket list.
Man, they are sure some fine looking fish.

Them are nice crappies… I wonder if their shoulders hurt from holding them out so far;) I was just scrolling through the fish donkey contests on my pc this morning the two leaders in the 2026 WAM (women’s) 10 fish crappie stringers have put up a few dandy’s…and there put on the bump board and a video release so arm length doesn’t matter;)
Easy to check em out FishDonkey.com 20 seconds to create a free account for a PC.
Goodness those are nice!
one fella got him 15 over 3 lbs in 4 days and a flat our herd of upper 2 lb. fish in the mix .....yes I know this factually ....:yikes
bla bla bla .... Grenada right ... :Rofl:banghead
I directed an ex client from my guiding days to Clear Lake 3 years ago. His party hired a local guide and had a great trip. He said all the crappie they caught were 15"er's.
Dinks! :Rofl
Love to go but Fork is SO Much Closer!
I am one on here that this is my home lake and I have been somewhat discretely posting about the quality of these fish for years. Even right now though there are many fishing and getting small fish, or few fish and without forward facing sonar it's much more difficult to catch them right now in deeper water and schooled up in moving non-native state. Those fish I have been posting have been discovered too,and hundreds if not thousands have been removed from there and not a two pound fish in the bunch. I know that I posted about getting into the giants last year and that is ingrained in my mind. A little later when they start to come to shore is my favorite time. The limit here is 25 per day, 25 in possession and we have been trying to get this dropped to ten. Don't know what the answer is for resource management and I am concerned about it. 25 fish over 1.5 lb is a lot of fillets! All these fish will come in to spawn and they are mainly targeted by those who will take 25 home. I guess right now the resource can handle it and it may be beneficial to the size of the survivers, certainly wouldn't want to see a stunted overpopulation either. I am in the minority for sure though as far as targeting Crappie throughout the year here, most people who invest in a bass boat fish for bass almost exclusively and there again you have the few even among tournament anglers who are consistently catching giants in the 10-14# range!

I am hoping all the pro fellas release all them fish ……
Did you all see Hayden Jeffries fish the other day ?
Not too far off the world record….just saying
An Almost 4 lb black crappie is just wow….
And it appeared to be a big male fish …:yikes
I haven't seen Hayden's or any of them really. 4 lb is a really nice slab.
Good luck getting limits dropped.. Minnycalifornia is finally dropping limits state wide on walleyes in 27, they’ve been fighting over it for years.
Minnesota walleye opener is a huge deal every May lots of economic impact, for the state. As for pan fish more and more lakes added every year with special limits, lots of them are 5x5 now…5 crappie, 5 Sunfish.
We stayed on our end of the lake today and we found bigger fish and lots of them! I have the long missed crappie tooth thumb. Caught several over two pounds but no three's today. no blizzard here either. Life is good. Attachment 513695

I hear ole Hayden managed to ketch him a herd of 3 lbers in 7 days ….
51 three lb crappie in 7 days is for sure positive …..
KABOOM :highfive
Good fish Noodle. I’d like to break 3lb once but I really would put all of those desires on hold for a hot trip to Havasu and some two pound gills.
