Expenses
I already have a Garmin 106sv and wanted to put together the expenses involves with adding the live scope to it. I’m thinking it’s somewhere about 1500-1700 dollars. My question is to those have set up one on your own and what y’all have come up with. I’m kinda gunshy. Finding scattered fish is lots easier with one as I’ve seen in friends boats.

Hey Tim. I have seen used systems sell for 400+600 on the BBC boards. I have one paired with a Garmin 1022 although I rarely use it cause I’m a troller at heart.

If buying a new LVS34 kit, you are in the neighborhood of at least $1500-1700 because you may find out that you need a longer Ethernet cable, wires, mount, etc. I bought an LVS32 kit on sale a couple of years ago for around $1000, and I do remember buying a few things for the install. You can also check out some sales (Black Friday is coming) and look at used kits if price is a concern.

Bought a new lvs and black box off eBay in July 1465.00 see there’s a few listed a bit cheaper now 1400ish.

Thanks y’all. That’s what I thought it would be. And if it isn’t on the TM then there the price of the stick or turning device. Slab had a neat set up when I was out with him. C’Mon Santa!LOL

To do it right you will need to rewire your boat and purchase a dedicated battery.
I tried to short cut and use existing wires and share batteries and eventually did it correctly.
sorry for bad news but without the correct gauge wire from a great battery source you will never get the best performance out of your Live scope investment.

Should it all happen, I will do it right. Probably get it’s own little battery and new marine wire and such.

If you use a dedicated battery you won't have to worry about interference either. Hd Innovations has some pretty nice affordable setups for carbon fiber pole mounts

A lot of guys using shuttle’s up here for ice and open water, handy if you use different boats or fish in a buddy’s boat, pole systems can be quick attach or more permanent.
I used my pole ice fishing and on the boat with Ram mounts or I can use the lvs on the trolling motor if I want, my shuttle has a 30ah lithium battery powering a 1022 after 8 hours battery shows 40-50% remaining when I hook it to the charger.
