I feel your pain. Here in Kansas we are supposed to get gust up to 70 mph tonight. Have to tie everything down.
If you cast with the wind I bet you can get a new distance record :Rofl
As we age it becomes much easier to talk ourselves out of doing things.
Even the things we enjoy doing.
But still be thankfull, because weve all known some who have exhibited those traits for their entire life.
Our can repair yard is in Daytona, along with thousands of scooters doin the bike week thing. The lot is dirt and the dust getting kicked up was pretty bad today. I thought to myself that it would be a good day to watch someone more dedicated than I try to fish on a day like this. Hope y’all get out soon.
Good to see a post from you yobuck. Hope all is well down south.
I feel your pain gillchaser. 8TH Day in a row here with winds forecast over 20mph. Last trip out I fished off the dam in corner of lake with wind at my back making 50 yard casts with the wind. Bad part was the wind was trying to blow me into the lake, felt like I was getting pushed from behind. This year has been really bad with the wind, cold and snow.
:hesaid
Well thanks Skeet, and yes things are well down here.
Maybe even better than i could hope for at this point.
I havent fished in several months however.
The desire to go is still there, getting there and launching isnt much of an issue either.
But loading the boat back on the trailer alone is becoming more of a challenge, especially when the wind is from the wrong direction.
Decided to not try today either. Winds 17-33 and the high temperature was at midnight last night.
Sitting in Bama with the same 30+mph guest today. Was 45+ yesterday. All them 3lb monsters just swimming around and I can’t do nothing about it.
I gave it about forty minutes today .
I knew I was in trouble when I ran a gulp ( I had to look it up) of cormorants of about a hundred out of the area around the docks .
They and the wind had the water chocolate milk colored .
51 degrees and dropping with Cloudy skies , with a feel like temperature of 37 told me I should have worn long pants instead of my cargo shorts. Winds were 18mph gusting over 30 .
I’d done some work on a couple of reels and wanted to try them out .
One of them , a Sahara 500 , needed to catch something to test whether it would bind up with a load . I’ll have to try it again another day .
Hopefully one with sun , and less wind .
Those cormorants in numbers can really hurt a fishery IMHO. I like your day better than mine which was 12 hrs. Had to get their last dig in I guess.
