Is there a good Grass Shrimp scent available? In my area nothing beats those shrimp.
Is it possible to make a scent using Grass Shrimp?
Thanks…

Maybe Krill oil or powder
I don’t understand powder. What is that?
Is there a feasible way to make scent from the actual shrimp?
I would think shrimp all smell alike but I'm not a fish. A quick search, below are a few options. :cheers2

HappyFisherman Thanks for the help.
I found THIS on Amazon. It is made from Ghost/Grass Shrimp. Going to give it a try.
I searched “ghost shrimp” and got the following.
”Palaemon paludosus**, also known as the ghost shrimp, glass shrimp, or eastern grass shrimp, is a freshwater shrimp native to North America. Appearance: Adults grow to 1–2 inches and have clear bodies. Habitat: Found in lakes, streams, and ponds in the coastal plain from Florida to New Jersey, and also in Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma”
That's what I would try. I like their Garlic Plus oil and Shad gel, but they have several other I want to try. The Musky/Pike gel looks good for catfish. I'd like to try the Minnow gel for crappie but the Shad works good. If you want to use on plastic lures I would get the gel instead of the oil
I called Steve with Pro-Cure. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. Told me to call with any future questions His number is 503-481-0957 in case anyone else has questions. He told me that THIS is what I want. It is made from ghost/grass shrimp (different names, same shrimp). Said it will not grease up marabou or feathers. Just ordered some.
Sorry if I muddied the waters with all of the post.
A special thanks to HappyFisherman!
Come back and let us know how it works for you!
I’ve tried so many things and the great majority of them didn’t work. Hopefully this is an exception. LOL
I’ll try my best to remember to post my findings.
Dang it, now I have to order some.

Not a believer in scents for Crappie . Why not just tip jigs with Grass Shrimp if you need it ?
I mix Berkley gulp shrimp scent, slab sauce & bang crawfish shad scent in the bottles that i use for soft plastic salmon eggs i use as nibbles & they work great & smell a lot like the powerbait scent on power worms.
I’ve used slab sauce but I like it best in an open top container that I can dunk and cast from. I use procure shrimp gel in salt water with good success. I believe scent has a place but there isn’t a magic bullet that I’ve found. What makes a difference trolling here is spike it dye with scent. I dip the tip of the tails in chartreuse with garlic scent and that bait generates more hits than the one that’s just dyed from the last trip. A bit of a scent trail seems to improve the bite for me.
I use braid straight to the jig. I use Black Garlic scented Spike-It to dye the last 6’ or so. My present thought is the black colored line may be more camouflaged. All Spike-It dyes work extremely well. Also maybe the scented and dyed light attracts the fish. Haven’t done this for long, so not sure how effective it is. BUT confidence when fishing is a fisherman’s best asset.
Good tip, SkeetBum. I’ll start dying more frequently… love their chartreuse on tails on clear and white.
Scent is VERY important to those critters that are not sold on a food item across the board.
If you just randomly pitch jigs to and fro like me ,then you for sure know this is a fact .
Regular ole glo white Berkeley gulp brand crappie nibbles smell highly of shrimp .
In The spots I frequent , if you are not packing nibbles when you get there, you will be sad more often than not when you depart for wherever you go when you quit “fishing “ ……:Rofl
Even though I hardly ever use scents and don't even own a nibble..........If you've ever sight fished for bass or crappie you know they can spit it out way faster than you can even imagine. I've set the hook so many times just to have the jig fly right over my head! Once you get a feel for it, it's almost like a rhythm and you set the hook as soon as you see their gills flair. The site fishing I did the fish really didn't even bite it they just suck it in - then spit if out. It's FAST!
Not sure if you are fishing tide controlled waters, but Slab Sauce works well when they are finicky there. I have noticed the more north I go on these type rivers where the tide doesn’t effect them as much, thump gel works best rather than the slab sauce. But I only use scent when they are finicky.
