A tough day
One we hate to see come and are never truly ready for. Every one of us has to face it. Today my dad went to be with the Lord. Like so many others, my dad was my best friend, my hero, my teacher in so many things. He implanted his love for all things outdoors. He taught me to hunt and fish and no matter how many times we went, I always managed to learn something new, especially when it came to the fishing. I can remember sitting in the back of the boat watching him catch one after another and me not catching a thing. That changed through the years, us giving each other a run for our money. The past several years our places changed in the boat, he wanted me to run the trolling motor so he could sit back and catch all the fish he would say. I would catch a few and usually catch him just watching me, with a smile on his face, and then tell me where to put my jig to catch the next one. His lessons will be with me forever. I know he will have a smile watching me from Heaven hit all the cypress knees, stumps, logs and such that he showed me throughout my life. I Love You Dad.

Sorry for your loss. It’s never easy losing a parent but he lives on inside you. Every time I go fishing I think of my dad as I’m sure you will think of yours. He will be smiling when he’s looking down from heaven seeing you fish. Condolences and prayers sent.

I can understand your feelings of that empty spot you need to fill. Believe me when I say your dad lives on in your heart and your mind. I'm sure he's smiling down upon you and and the family. I can say this as I lost my dad to cancer Dec. 22, 1991, and not a day don't go by I don't think of him. We'll be Praying for and your family in this time.

So sorry for your loss. I still feel my dad's spirit every single time I'm in my boat. I'm very thankful for all the times we had on the water and in the woods. I wore his old hunting belt yesterday and used some of the split shot from his tackle bag on three of the jig poles I was using. May his soul rest in peace, and may God bless you and your family at this time.

Man I am right there with you, me and my dad fish alot together, now the winters are just too cold and he cannot see good enough for livescope fishing, but we still fish treetops, shoot docks together, and when that day comes I will be as lost as you on the next day after. Thanks for opening my eyes, cause I need to spend as much time as we have left together.
