Belly boats

I brought my belly boat from San Diego with me, I decided last year to get some new waders and flippers and give Lake smith a try, but I got a lot of strange looks, didn't do very well that day by the way.
But much later I remember reading something about no belly boats allowed in various areas in virginia ??
Does anyone know if that is true, or should I just call vdfg.
Any info appreaciated.

If you'r talking about the Norfolk water supply lakes,i don't think they allow belly boats. I fish Prince & Western Branch and they don't allow them.

Yep, it was norfolk.

A good lake to try is at the end of Pleasure house Rd, the one that the Bridge Tunnel goes across. If you turn left at the end of Pleasure House Rd and take the first right there is some parking at the end of the lake, some nice craappies and bass, it's a shallow lake and warms up fast in the spring.

What about Stumpy Lake? It used to look pretty good back in the days I played golf there.

I think the only way you can fish in Stumpy Lake is while wearing mossy green camo and standing very very still.

BTW, I also used to raise the water level in the lake while playing the 18th hole 20-25 years ago.

I've heard Stumpy Lake only has carp and sunfish, it's real shallow and is acid due to a thick layer of organic stuff on the bottom. it has fish kills in hte summer due to lack of oxygen.

Back then, I had a boomerang of a slice. I have since learned how to draw a ball just as far to the left. Maybe in 20 more years I'll learn how to hit one straight.

I'll be the first to admit that I've contaminated the board with all my talk about the yellow perch but you guys have gone way past the edge talking about golf.
I always thought that is something to do when your'e too old to fish! Ha!
