Does anyone have one of these, and if so is it worth the $100 bucks. What I am asking is, if you have one, when you drop it in the water & it tells you that blue is the best for that depth & water clarity, have you tied on a blue jig and wore them out???
Oh yes!! they work, sounds like a fluke, but they work... years ago practice day of bass torunament I used mine and it said to throw purple bait, so I tied on DBII crankbait in purple and about 6 casts later landed an 8lb bass... and I never would of thrown that color for nothing,even tho I had it in box!!! So, I am a believer...kinda wish I still had one. yrs ago I paid around 80.00 for it!
I seam to catch more on the color it picks than the color I pick. But I don't know much anyway.
I use to have one of the $39.95 models and it was a waste of money.
Just remember that it won't tell you what the fish are going to bite. It will just tell you what color is most visable at what ever depth you set it at.

you can locate the fish and the depth they ar suspended with your depth finder .then drop the locater to that depth the fish are then drop a jig the color the locator showe to that depth .
I tie my own jigs, and I want to do some experimenting so I think I will buy one. I will post some pics of my jigs once I figure out how to. I think you guys would like them.
I once owned one and I suppose it taught me the rules of thumb for color selecting. But looking back, I think I got took.
My brother and I kid each other about it every once in a while nowadays. It kinda reminds me of my wide-eyed approach back in the '70's.
I would classify it as another gimmick right up there with the ole' power shad. Remember those?
We all live and learn. At least the Color-C-Lector taught me a few things. It was not a total loss. Getting one on the cheap would be to your advantage most likely.

I have used them and I liked the way they work, the old ones were made accross the road from my house long time ago. the new ones are a lot better.
I fished with a guy twice last year that used one...I wasn't impressed, but I guess we all have a bad day every now and then.
I just got one for my birthday and tried it last Sunday. We were pulling cranks and caught 75% of our fish on the color combo it selected, also that was a bait we probably wouldn't have started with otherwise.
I have one that gives the below surface tempature and I like that feature best. But if you are really interested in one check out ebay for one. shipping will be more then the cost of the unit.
