Officially PB.
Finally caught my new officially PB 2.83lb (2lb 13oz?) weight on my cheapie scale. I try to get measurements but come up just around 16” or so. This one fight like a bass and try to jump a couple times even try to go under dock. Caught a few more 10-12” but they seem small after this one.

That's a tank sir. Just curious is there alot of guys fishing for crappie in California. I have seen some monster black crappie caught in that state but it does not seen like many folks fish for them.

Thanks everyone, can’t imagine the weight of this mama in 4-5 months. Some told me they caught 3lbers before maybe it will be my time this spawn season. For real though this crappie is only 16”, I measured my rod from the butt end to hook keeper and 16” exactly. I would imagine 2.8 lb crappie would be around 17” out of spawning season.
i don’t think a lot fishing for crappie let alone know them, unless they move here from out of state. I myself just started fishing for crappie 4-5 years ago.
