I've found on Ross Barnett when it looks like that to hunt protected waters for crappie fishing. Even in protected waters the bite seems to slow down. In the swamp here wind has little effect on the bite.
I’ve learned, on Pickwick NOTHING is protected lol! You can spend 15-30 minutes relocating just to find the wind at that spot is blowing 90 degrees from where you left [emoji23]Quote:

I've come to realize by your posts you're a tough one, put your chin in the wind and stick steel to Crappie. Interesting talking about putting the stern towards the wind. When I'm fishing a oyster reef for Speckled Trout I use a Tail Anchor, Hooker 8 pounder, got a good 4ft of chain on it though, holds well because hooked off the corner of the stern the boat is not yanking on it if the wind is blowing. Sits rock solid. Takes a lot bigger anchor if you anchor off the bow.Quote:
