Here is the 41 lber my son and I caught on a noodle at Nimrod. We were using noodles baited with Green Sunfish last night. This is our biggest fish this year. The first trip out other than pole fishing.:D Thanks again for help downloading pictures David.:)

;) Now thats what I'am talking about!! Thats a great fish, we have caught a few at Bull Shoals in the past and it always amazing that a fish can get that big. Thanks for the pics.

Did he eat the perch or the ENTIRE NOODLE? I grew up around Kaw Lake in Oklahoma where they were common to be caught about this size....one/two each week maybe....they are a LOT of fun, and I'm glad you guys got to experience it....when is the beer batter fish fry? ;) MinnowMan
MM , We have caught quite a few good fish using different methods over the years. I use nets in winter, caught them up to 60 lbs using snagging rods, up to 33 lbs on Bass rods , and this 41 the biggest on noodles. Biggest noodle catch before this was a 36 lber. Most fun is taking a kid and watching them pull up a biggun.:cool: My boy caught one with a little help at 8 years old that went 33 lbs also on a Bass Rod. He was wanting to go out and try fishing for bigguns with Bass Rods again after pulling this one in.:DQuote:

Man, that's what I call a fish. Are you fishing at night? I tried last Tuesday and had to get off the water at 1000, by 1100 it was nearly 100 degrees. No help in sight until sometime next week. Maybe I'll try some night fishing since the moon is cooperating for the next few days.

We drop the noodles out at sunset and pick them up at dawn. Don't even stay with them most times. Like YO-YO'S , noodles must be attended during the daylight hours. We don't use them much as we don't need any fish. I guess we have put them out 2 times last year and 1 time this year. Just set them playing, looking for a big fish.;) Lots of fun to watch a kid pull up a hog. My son is not to impressed . But when we take one of his friends used to perch fishing ponds they are shocked.:cool:Quote:

Being a shallow lake with creek and river channels. We average 4 to 10' water except the channels. Set noodles 6 to 9' and place on a drift to pass over the channels. Most of our stumps are along the channel drops and humps. The noodles like we set sorta slowly troll the big baits over the drops .That's where the big ones hang out feeding at night.:) Best locations are channel bends in the lake where they pass over as many channel banks/drops as possiable on one set or drift.;)
