First I was thinking juvenile yellow perch but its body isn’t right. Maybe a shiner of some kind? Baby walleye? Not sure, never seen anything like that.

Looked it up by the pic. vbottom and GreenLine are correct. That particular one looks like a roanoke logperch darter.
logperch are often in casts nets and such when you collect bait in some spots ....
fairly common in these parts in some lakes ....
dont know much about them other than most folks dont know much about them either :Rofl
