Unlimited Shell Cracker
Had a great day at Lake Poinsett. Had around 100 shell cracker between 8-9 inches with a couple close to 10. Used a Major Craft FineTail Banshee 6 foot super ultra light rod. Had the Daiwa Ballistic FW 1000 reel spooled with ES2 Ester line in 1.75# test. Used a Daiwa Gekkabijin 1.5 gram jig head with a #8 hook. Lure was Trout Magnet in Sow Bug, Root Beer Float, and Bison. Just spot locked the boat and fan cast 360 degrees. Fish were pretty much all around me. Very few bluegill were around today. I need to explore the whole lake but I just couldn’t bring myself to pull off these fish. While it is about 1.5 hour drive from the house it is hard to stay away from this lake. Wishing for an early Fall so I can spend 7 hours or so on the water with 70 degree temperature.

What a blast, when you get into those shellcrackers.

And casting all around you, that would be very different for me. Good trip in every way but the heat. Glad they came out to play and you were there.

Amazing variety of color patterns on them redear. The one in the fifth picture is like a Dalmatian with it's color pattern. Don't see that every day.
