Any updates? I’m still down.
Kermit bought a new pontoon , couple months ago, and caught some fish, but not crappie. He is mainly after catfish. And since mid July, hasn't gotten anything. But he is also been learning the fish finders, on the boat.
I’m still down but with Covid now. Getting better. Still want to know how the crappies are biting here. Over two months now since I’ve been out.
Chaunc, get yourself well soon! I know the crappies miss you on the lake!
None of my buddies have been out much, nor have I. The heat and humidity that ruled the past few months had me doing other activities. The recent cold fronts are perking my interest along with the seasonal thinning of the boat traffic week by week. The few reports that have come my way have been a continuation of very slow action. I am looking forward to getting up for some shore fishing and have a new fisherwoman looking to join the fun. We hope to see you out there soon!
Finally felt good enough to get out yesterday. My buddy Tim did the heavy lifting and made it easy for me. We got a dozen keepers. Four over 12” but caught a ton of shorts. The other eight keepers were just over 9”. I’m sore today but glad to get back in the boat.
Good to hear. Hoping the coming days have you feeling even better.
Good to hear your out fishing again. Looked to see if you were up by the 846 bridge today, while getting gas at 5 Points.
Got out yesterday. We put a limit of good size crappies in the box. And a huge catfish. All on various size plastics and head sizes. From 1/8 down to 1/64. As deep as 14 ft to as shallow as 4. Most were over 11”.
Got out for a full day yesterday. Weather was so nice i didn’t notice how many fish I was catching. Got 10 keeper crappies, 5 over 11”, a catfish, perch, 3 gills and 3 lmb that were short. Started the morning in the low 40’s but ended the day over 60*. All my bigger fish were caught in shallow water. No live bait.
Last two trips out were in the heavy winds. I love fishing this lake because there’s always somewhere to fish out of the wind. And actually catch fish. I limited both days. Jig and bobber and hang glided baby shads on a heavy sinker rig.

Had another good day on the lake yesterday. Wind is relentless here but found some keepers in the protected areas.

The lake is down, over 2 1/2 ft. Yes the campground ramp can be used, but the docks were taken out, a couple weeks ago.
I’ve been using the Mahaney ramp and beaching my boat on the right shore. Slower day Friday. Attachment 496230
But Tuesday was a better day

Well, after another good fall fishing season, it’s time to put the boat away. Finished on Wednesday with 19 keepers. All on jig and bobber five feet over 8 foot water. New jig this fall was BG itty bit slab slayer in a couple colors.
