Some people cant catch fish in 80 degree water and I wont fish in 90 degree air. Rofl.

Haven’t been much and haven’t done well when I have gone so not much to report lol! Boat is at the mechanic currently. Been a little in a rut lately, it’s hot, not catching much if any and no one to go with. Idk if anyone else gets this way

I guess I am getting old and can't take the heat and after getting up early for work all week I don't feel like getting up early on Saturday to go. I guess I need to try a little night fishing sometime.

Here you go ! Fell over to the green side lately ! Just hard to beat the early morning/late evening top water explosions! Tried crappie the other day just for about 30 mins caught 3 with 2 being dinks 1 decent keeper no air stirring and 100° decided nah just too hot for that!
Same. Just a couple years ago I’d get out in this heat and fish all day. Just can’t make myself do it now. Hopefully I’m saving up days with the wife to really get after them come fall!!Quote:

FYI, Sunday morning it started heating up quick once the sun came up, but my truck showed 70 degrees as I back down the put in!

Hey Slabprowler, those Green Carp are fun to catch, just not good to eat!
Compared to how it went for me last year, the crappie fishing was genuinely bad on Wheeler this year. And with the lack of reports, I’m inclined to think it has been like that for the others as well.
I’m still catching them, just nothing worth mentioning. I haven’t cleaned or eaten a single fish this year, all catch and release. Since it’s topwater time, I’ve went to the green fish side for the time being.
It’s been raining a ton since September of last year and hasn’t let up until now. I’ve noticed my crappie fishing takes a dive when the water is moving up and down a ton. Most likely my own fault, LOL.
Hope all is well. Maybe this coming fall we will have a record breaking year on reports for CDC!

Occasionally catch one fishing for Crappie, think I have a 5-pound Bass until a 2-pound Smallie comes up, LOL!
