Yes, when sitting up front spider rigging or holding the jig poles. Now that I’m pulling crankbaits from the back of the boat, not so much now until I make some setup changes.
Yep forward facing sonar & American Express are a whole lot alike. I don’t leave home without it.:biggrin
Don’t care to.
No I do not. Just an old Garmin fishfinder.
Yes when vertical jigging or casting for crappie.
Mega 360 is probably as far as I will go. For now only side scan
I'm a no for FFS. Sidescan yes but not really interested in FFS.
Except maybe for ice fishing but I'm already invested in M360 for that with hardly a chance to use it since I bought it.
I may consider someday. I do have Mega 360 and I love for structure. where I struggle is determining what I'm actually looking at and/or seeing on graph. For lack of better words, I do not have a trained eye. Old dude here.
I actually have 360 (non-MEGA), Livescope, and Side Imaging (non-MEGA). While I’m spider-rigging, I use both the 360 and LS; when I’m pulling crank baits, I mainly use DI and SI views since I’m at the back of the boat—maybe I should buy another Garmin Echomap for the console since I have my 1199’s (Bow and Console) setup to mirror each other depending on where I sit.

I borrow a lvs32 from a friend. Its 100% cheating and totally unfair compared to fishing blind. Mixed feelings about it, but no doubt its fun to just put it to them and "video game fish" sometimes.

Hi, I’m Justin, I use FFS, and I like it! :biggrin
Does a fat baby fart?
It makes finding fish a lot easier, but when you're on a "level" playing field, that playing field is elevated, just at a higher level.
I fished out 22-23 championship scoping the same fish, and on occasion, deciphering who was going to fish for a particular fish, with another competitor. He got 1st place. I got last. I just couldn't execute the way he did. So yes, it may be "cheating", but once you find those fish, you still have to be able to catch them.
Believe it or not, I haven’t really caught that many fish where I “video game” fish holding a single pole with my Livescope; the majority of my fish were still caught spider rigging like normal but used the Livescope to better tune my depth and presentation overall as well as determine that some locations don’t have fish (or have fish that just don’t want to bite based on behavior) and quickly move on. On initial purchase, it was kinda interesting to just hold a jig out in front of a crappie and watch it attack the jig, though.

Older garmin with ps22 transducer, ice fishing in down mode works well to see two lines spaced about 5 feet apart in the portable ice house, when the Wife and I fish, and there ante must else to do but watch the screen.lol.In the boat not to often, rather boring out in a boat watching a screen video fishing.
I would have driven right past these fish without FFS. I was cruising down a shoreline to get to a set of docks and happened to have the LVS turned at a 90 towards shore from the last dock. Dont know if i have ever hit spot lock any quicker. Filled the livewell in about 20 minutes. I was able to keep turning the transducer and stay on the school the whole time, every cast was a bite. I get to ketch over some really fancy tournament grade FFS equipment when time permits and it could be something that makes or breaks ya if your good with it and enjoy that style of ketchn fish .
Crappie tournament anglers must use it and use it well to be a someone in them circles , but alas poor lil ole me has no desire to be a someone in those circles and just want to be ketchn :Rofl
I don't know about dramatically, but yes it has increased my catch rate. The big thing it does (for me) is saves time, if I don't see fish in the bed or brush pile I move on. It also helps finding the right colors quicker. I'd say that a lot of video footage shot by Josh never makes it to his videos, he's just showing the highlights, not all the time spent trolling around searching and casting to the fish that aren't biting. Just because you can see them doesn't mean they will bite.
Clips from hours and hours on the water and finding them eat it fastest fish will make it look WAY easier than it actually is ……fact
I use a ps22 on a 9". I dont do much one on one sniping but it has definitely opened my eyes to new places to fish. On days when they are biting good it doesn't help much your gonna catch what your ability allows. But on days when they are hard to locate it can help you find them. Other days it is kinda fun to play with it

Live sonar, because it is not always facing forward.
To expensive for me . Now that we are going to 10 fish limits I am bass , bream , and catfish more .
Yes when vertical jigging or casting. Now that I'm pulling crankbaits I don’t turn it on. I look at it like it's another tool in the toolbox.
YES, I use it to pitch to targeted fish or treetops or timber…… you get the message.
Yes a PS-22R Panoptix transducer (the original FFS) although I have a Livescope setup on the boat I built it has only been turned on once, I set it up, then turned it off never to be turned on again. Mostly because I'm fishing out of another boat.
Yes, I have it and use it. I always considered it cheating but decided to buy it one day after spending 3 hours fishing a cove without much to show for it. I ran into a friend with FFS and he said He fish the cove also but after scanning it for 20 minutes, he left the cove because it was pretty much devoid of fish.

I found these fish one day last week. They were sitting about 30 yards off to the side of some cover I normally fish.
Without Livescope, I would have probably never saw these fish.
I'm not opposed to using FFS, but I do wish states would lower their limits to adjust to them. In Ohio we have a 30 fish limit and IMO it should be lowered to 15.
Does anyone know how to rotate that pic?
No FFS for me. I catch more than I want to clean without out it .
Jigs only , Long pole 99% of the time

I just dont think this would be my style of fishing. I'm a lazy fisherman that loves trolling and watching my rods. Just dont want to "work" for them over a brush pile without the boat moving much. I catch enough fish when EVERYBODY is catching. When it's COLD or HOT outside then I dont have that much desire to go fishing anyway, and I believe that's when livescope really shines.
I’m also a lazy fisherman, and I learned to use my Livescope to watch my trolling rods to understand presentation and fish behavior for an improved catch rate this past spawn. Because of Livescope, I also changed lures a lot more quickly than in the past as well as fine tuned my depths better.
Here you go crappiemax. Attachment 489200
Agreed it takes alot of wasted time away from looking for fish i have hundreds of stake and brush beds and thousands of docks on my home lake i can fish ffs takes the guesswork out of fishing i don't use it to target one particular fish because i don't tournament fish but everyone i take sure appreciate being around fish all day long but like you said you still have to make em bite it kinda puts things into perspective when you have 5000 fish on your graph on a trip and you bring home 30 they are a handy tool but also in a way can sure humble a feller.
