I am real tired of replacing lead cell batteries every year. I am going to go two 12 volt to get 24volt. I have a lowes pontoon set up to troll for crappie.What I am asking is what AH do I need. Would a 50 or 60 AH work for this? It is a fairly light pontoon 19 feet with a115 on it. I bought aNocoGen 5x2 2bank 10 amp charger to put on the boat. I am assuming this will all work.{Please advise !! Thanks in advance
It all depends on what your current battery set is and how much you use in a typical fishing trip. For example, I currently have two Bass Pro group 24 AGM batteries that have a 75Ah rating, and my 24V Terrova moves my 18’ bass boat around using only about 25% (can’t recall seeing my battery indicator showing 2 bars since installing them—I usually see 3 bars by the end of the day. Since I can run a Lithium down further than 50% to keep from hurting the batteries (probably down to no more than 20%), I should be fine with a 50Ah Lithium battery (either 24V or two 12V in series).

If you read the NoCo pamphlet it will tell you that only lithium batteries with a BMS are recommended to be charged by it.
At least that's what my NoCo GenPro 10x3 pamphlet says.
You will also need to keep the Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries out of direct sunlight and in a cool & vented space.
Maximum amp draw for trolling motor x operation hours needed a = AH size Lithium battery needed. What kind of trolling motor are you running.
I run two 12v 100ah LiTime Trolling batteries and have most I’ve run them down was to 70% left. That day I was scanning most the day and running trolling motor a lot. Could I have gotten away with 50 or 60ah, maybe but I paid $259 a piece for mine and rather have too much than too little. I charge with same charger you have.
Call Impulse Lithium and see what they recommend.
Not ever used lithium for trolling or starting . I been using Amped Outdoors 32ah lithium for 4 years for livescope set up and well pleased. There are 12 and 24 volt batteries out there . My guess would be use a 100ah or larger for trolling motors. I would talk to battery company and get good information on your planned use needs.

heck the optima one that cost me 60 as a refurb lasted until I finally gave it away to a bud still working after 4 or 5 years
not so sure about much , but folks will toss lots of cash at batteries when it really don't add up in the dollars dept. for me ...
259 divided by 35 bucks is about 7 years worth of battery electricity EVEN if they only went one year ....

I'm on year 7 with this set of trolling motor battery's. It's all i've ran since 2003 & the least i've gotten has been 5 years. If the op is having to replace battery's every year then something is definitely wrong.Quote:

I’m still running group 24 AGM on the trolling motor and a group 31 AGM on the crank/electronics and am studying to see how often I get to 50% on the group 31 to see if I need to split it up with a group 24 AGM for crank and Lithium for electronics/house.
