Crappie tackle

This is a super fine hard working smooth as butter set up in a short rod ...
miss lil red riding hood is for SURE ALL that .....easily put her up against any of the high end tackle .....
about 50 total in her and or 45 american dollars ! :Fire
she is stout , sensitive , not too heavy and VERY durable
sides all that kinda pretty as well .....
5" 8" of serious rock and roll is this here lil set up .....:highfive
gave her a fresh spool of mr crappie hi viz 6 the other day ....
was running 8 for a bit when the big crappie showed up ....
on my desk or on the water .....me likey ....:cheers2
the epitome of KABOOM is her in my hand no doubt about it
side note , that there no name reel has a very shallow spool ...
and it will cast a country mile ....fyi ....
best keep your equipment costs in line ,,,,the gas prices seem to be totally uncontrolled these days ....:yikes

Nice. I ordered one of those reels in green to test out. Looking forward to it and having my own KABOOM experience.

And an additional bonus is if you beat up on it you’re not out a fortune. Have fun with what you have is the name of the game.

It looks like we are talking about two things .The reel and also the rod if I'm not mistaken . My question is what is the rod brand name if that is also part of the review .With Ketchen's reputation a lot of us just have to know what equipment he is using hoping to half way match some of his results.

Fools errand unless you're fishing the same places & times. I could hit every boat dock & marina at my local lakes and NEVER catch them in size/numbers as 'ol Ketch does on a regular basis .... regardless of the equipment used. :biggrin

He has an Abu Vigilante rod.

Some people can catch fish in a mud puddle with a shoelace. Some couldn't catch fish in an aquarium with the finest net available. What gear you use or how much you spend, the main thing is to have fun. Just include pics with your reviews please like Ketch'n does:biggrin

yes , this rod is ridiculously nice on several levels , I have slapped it against more stuff than just about any rod I have ever had.
On many occasions I was sure I broke something near the tip area slamming it on boats and the dock and metal braces and the list goes on .
It is amazing it has made it as a primary close quarters dock rod to say the least .
It has ample backbone and sensitivity and is the complete package in a shorter rod , this is a fact yawl ....
sides all that , it is about simply beautiful too .....
