Well the Title says it all but just in case there are people here that enjoy reading I'll lay out the video. On 4-7-24 Sunday before Last, I said I needed to learn how to fish in 14mph-20mph Texas Winds because when I want to go fishing on Sunday's & Monday's I can't pick my weather.:dono However, when I say I'm going then I'm going. But how can I be productive?:scratchhead What am I weak at with Crappie Fishing?:confused: THE DOUBLE DIGIT WINDS CAN WRECK HAVOC ON CRAPPIE FISHING...:banghead 4-7-24 Shut me Down to 8 Crappie for a 5hour - 6hour day.:yikes I couldn't maneuver the boat to get to the Crappie.nonono I couldn't find Crappie.nonono I didn't even find 20 Crappie to catch.:banghead I was blown all over the place using my Power Poles & Paddles & it was draining my battery.

4-8-24 1 Day Later, what did I do? Iron Man Got New Upgrades. I had more obstacles than I care to list on 4-14-24 Boat Flooding.:yikes Learning new things is challenging but when you learn life Hard, Life gets real easy. The best of the best were at some point a beginner , why fight mother nature is my thoughts , she does as she pleases and I have learned to simply adjust to her moods , rarely would I attempt to fight the wind, it is your friend if you understand how to use it to your advantage.
Not sure if my response simplified anything for ya , but in the end it is what it is....:Rofl
And for sure KABOOM is near :Cowboy

@UnLikeU, since March I've had to replace a power pack and timer base on my Evinrude 150 XP and deal with water leaking into my transom from the livewell pump fittings and one of the outboard mount bolts, requiring drying out rotting wood and treating both areas. Fortunately, the outboard part needed drying and wood sealer before reinstalling the bolt (along with 3M 4200 fast cure), although the livewell fittings required filling in when I got done scraping away rotted wood and applying wood sealer before reinstalling with 3M 4200 fast cure). The good days and bad days are just a part of the hobby, and how you overcome is just a part of it. Between scheduling repairs around work and kids' activities and having enough mechanical knowledge, I'm lucky that I didn't have to take the boat to the shop for all of the repairs and miss out on the several days of fishing that I've enjoyed and avoiding a more expensive repair bill due to paying for markup and labor.

@Ketchn of course what you said makes sense. :ThumbsUp I just normally stay home when the wind is predicted over 14 +mph. In Tx that ruins a lot of my Sundays and Mondays. Now I'm like I'M GOING WHEN I'M GOING so I better get suited & booted. Honestly it's really fun but it started out intimidating.:Rofl In just 2 outings in 15+ mph winds its made my 13-10 mph conditions look like the lake is Glass.:Rofl It's a different level of challenging. :ThumbsUp:HandsClapping Stay tuned..:popcorn

we do it like this , we have us a list , lakes that ain't friendly under whatever direction wind get avoided .......
we hit the ,yep that is a good lake on a whatever direction wind ....
sometimes we go to spots that most don't think of just because of the wind ....

@Ketchn of course I do the same. However, now I WANT TO LEARN TO FIAH IN IT. Not tucking away in Coves getting out of it. I'm gonna learn to fish directly in 14-20 mph winds. No more hiding. So far 18ish is where the line to be able to catch them is. But finding them changes as well. It's Interesting being out there in it. The fish change also. It's become a game inside the game. rotfl

As a Walleye-Crappie fisherman it taught me wind can be your friend, if it is consistently from the same direction.

the bigger the wind the better the bite bro , we see this all the time ....
we look for lakes that face certain directions and hit them on certain winds ....
we often say never mind if the wind is up in the teens though ....
we try to live to fight another day .....:Rofl
