Buddy and I are coming down on the 24th? Anyone still having luck on these lakes? We caught several down there early February! Bluegill is fine as well. Where are they at, crappie or gills?
Thanks.

I was there on the 20th of last month. Too windy to fish open water on Woodruff so everybody there were fishing the pads. I didn't see much catching so I left for the river. Caught 9 fish all day. There were plenty on the graph but not many takers. Another boat said the same. Highly disappointing! The weather had been funky a couple days before my trip so I think they still had Lockjaw. Your timing should be good for Specks and Gills as the weather around Central Florida warms up and settles down... hopefully.
I will be fishing both lakes and the river March 10-23. I've had good years and down years here. But how bad can it really be if we are fishing?
So far is't slow, but the fish I have caught are nice 2 pounders. I have done my best in the evening 4 - 8 pm. I will update as time goes one.
JC, are you catching them long lining or single pole?
Open water or pads?
Following this as we head down there next Saturday

Trolling. Red and pink head 1/16 jigs with white or pink grubs are pretty much what is working. But still slow.
How did you guys do?
well lets hear about te fishing trip. hoping you caught a lot Jc
I just realized I had not replied to this thread! ?
We did pretty well. Best I remember we caught around 10 per day and they were all good ones. Pretty stayed on Woodruff but did hit Dexter 1 day. Caught several over the 2 pound size.
Went back around the 2 week of March ( my son was home from his Army deployment to Saudi Arabia). This was his time down there and he loved it, once I got him how to fish for crappie. He mainly fishes for bass and has that aggressive hook set action! [emoji23][emoji23]. Did fair that trip. Averaged around 8-10 per day but not as big on average.
Sorry it took me so long.

Hit me up if u come back this coming fall I live on George and fish Dexter and Woodruff often. Sounds like you had a great time with your boy and that’s what it’s all about right there.—mud
How was the fishing on George this year?
Was and is still real good but the water level in the lake is lower than I’ve ever seen it for such an extended time. Barely able to get my boat out of my dock and I don’t draw more than 8”.
