Looks like you shot an elusive Polaris also! Congrats Jeff
Lol I probably wouldn’t have been as mad [emoji6]
One of my daughters little teen male friends supposedly did that with a fist while having a temper tantrum.
Apparently their love life was not going to suit them, bad text from another girl friend he was trying to woo. Thought about taking it out with a switch on his behind, but I think he’d a run outta behind before hitting the $ amount [emoji38]
Thing is 2 ply laminated glass, can’t get anybody to cut one. Whole top edge is a big sweeping radius. No luck on oem replacement either.
I’d rather have cracked glass than scratched up lexan - old sxs is probably on its last legs anyway.

We had to good fortune to inherit about a 6 year old upright freezer from my late aunt’s estate this weekend, so it’s fixin to be back ON around here! Let slip the dogs of war [emoji38]

They breed like rodents here. I almost miss the days the Dog Hunters would line the roads around here waiting for one to pop out. I would rather not fool with them but crop damage means WAR! Maybe you can come collect some of the ones here JWhite when you get tired of the same view of your woods you're hunting.
Pretty plentiful around here also
You hold the spotlight and I bring my favorite 300 mag? We’d have it sorted in short order if we didn’t go to jail [emoji23]
Been wanting to post a pic anyway.
This girl is magic I swear.
Craig Boddington Kudu, 300 H&H.
One of 250, Circassian and matte blue. Throwing 150 Nosler partitions around 3350 mv. It’s almost criminal how it hits [emoji16] I have since taken off the bubba cartridge carrier and went back to a couple extra in a pocket. Just too classy for all that biz. Attachment 478855

I had Ray Montgomery of Ray's Gunsmith Service in Grand Junction Co build my #1 for me. I love Falling Blocks. It started out life as a 22-250 but I shot the barrel out so we put a 1-12 twist 257 Roberts barrel on, reamed it to 25-06 for one bullet a Sierra 100Gr Game King. Shoots 3/4in at 250 yards. Also build me a 6mm-06 with a Douglas Air Gauge Lite Palma stainless barrel, it shoots 1in at 350 yards. I will find a picture. I have a 6.5x30 72mm Objective 30mm tube Minox scope on it. For here if a primer is to be popped my Remington 700 in 300 Blackout suppressed - subsonic 190gr. will do the dispatching. The firing pin is loud when it goes off, not much else. I like your rifle and Cat.
Somehow after carrying on here for awhile, the falling block affection did not surprise me [emoji6] I don’t have any really super accurate No. 1s, maybe my standard catalog English/gloss 300 H&H. It stays under moa easy.
For grins, here’s my “primitive” rifle.
28 inch barreled 1885, 375.
235 Speer hot core over an abundance of R-17. It’s probably more brutal than the 300s. Attachment 478856
I have toyed with the the idea of liquidating my collection and going with something like a Blaser or Merkel with a couple of barrels. But have a lot of memories with my falling blocks, and a little skeptical of the light weight of those. I usually hunt out of shooting houses, and do realize there are limits to my recoil tolerance. A number 1 in 450-400 nitro made me come to grips there. That thing will hurt you if you’re not paying attention [emoji51]

I have a R-93 Professional in 264 WinMag, biggest I shoot anymore. The last 5-6 deer I shot was all with the 6mm-06. Like the rest of the community here I don't deer hunt anymore. That said these eating my trees will be eliminated because their so many at one time now. We've had as high as 8 in the front yard at one time. Personally I like a beefy rifle myself. That 1885 is sweet.
I’m into T/C encores. Anybody toting a magazine into the woods is just pitiful. :)
Love the look of the ruger #1s but never liked the weight.

I like encores too! I usually am not carrying one further than from sxs to the stand, so weight doesn’t bother me. And the totally unnecessary cartridges I shoot, it keeps my end of the thump manageable [emoji6]
My biggest complaint with the no 1 is mounting modern scopes. Seems the turrets have moved since 66 or 67 whenever ole Bill laid things out. Puts you having to use offset rings that to me look like crap. But it is what it is.

I never pull mine out anymore since the 6mm-06 was built. The glass was robbed for a extra Bbl with my Blaser. It has HI 1" rings on it if y'all know anyone who would like a #1 in 25-06 that was custom built by Ray Montgomery I will take $1K for it.
Still have one more tag to fill. :biggrin

Nice buck, good groceries
My old school Rem 700 BDL .300 Win Mag is my one and only but seldom gets used anymore. It's all crossbow for me mostly.
CVA Scout (ambidextrous) in a 35 Whelen Heavy Fluted barrel, Leupold 3-9X40MM Freedom CDS Duplex. It's for Iowa. The only necked cartridge they allow. Other than that it's muzzle loader, shotgun slugs, or straight walled ammo. The 35 is way more accurate and has 3 times the range of the next best thing they allow. Unless you want to fork out $5K for a custom long range muzzle loader. ;) Hunted up there for several years with a standard inline muzzle loader until they changed the regs and opened up some centerfire cartridges. The ol' smoke pole is collecting dust now. :)
For here at home, I have a Remington model 700 BDL-LH 270 with a single 6X Redfield wide angle (rectangle optical and reticle lens) my wife gave me for Christmas back in 1983. Had to have the crosshairs replaced a couple years ago but it still shoots deadly groups after all these years. For the other Midwest states I hunt I shoot a 338 Lapua Mag.
"Tikka " craze for me . Guaranteed to shoot less than moa . This 270 will shoot anything put in it less than .75 . Of coarse in memory of my dad the old 30-06 sees annual use .Attachment 479348Attachment 479349
