Any fish caught and the skunk is gone. Skunk is only no fish caught.
I would consider no fish of my targeted species a skunk. On my home lake common bycatch is catfish , yellow bass, white bass , hybrid striper , ditch pickle ,brim, and gaspergoo. We have a name for catching a crappie , bass , drum , catfish, and any one of the 3 striped fish, " Lake Palestine grand slam"
with extra credit if they are all caught on the same bait. The drum is usually the hardest one to catch. I have managed this feat multiple times,
but only a couple of times on the same lure.
your mileage may vary
good luck

It might not be what you wanted to catch but catching ANY fish erases the skunk in my book!;)
I vote No Skunk! BTW Ketchn, your post now kinda years gone by about the micro jigs in winter paid the bills the last 2 days on Ross Barnett. I'm posting the trip up but want to thank you again for taking the time to share techniques that work. Last winter I killed the Crappie on The Rez with it and the last 2 days served Humble Pie to a whole bunch of Shiner guys.
You were catching fish Bud but they kept falling in the bottom of my cooler. Even a 2in Baby Shad was way too big.
late spawn shad are some of the most vulnerable/fragile bait fish ever when it gets chilly , and there may be other types of late spawn species they are after as well , but to be sure factually there are those days if it ain't really small they ain't gunna play .....
glad you put some in the box bro ....KABOOM is the word
For you Ketchn, anything less than 10 crappie would be considered a skunk! :Rofl
