I bought two few weeks ago have them at my cabin and lake place but then havn't remembered to take them with me when I'm actually fishing! LOL :Rofl
I used an app years ago that kept a tally.
I have one tied inside my boat so it is always there.
LOL !!! Yeah, I've got one or two in the storage compartment of my boat .... and they're still in their packages, unopened. :Rofl
I didn't buy them, they were gifts. Probably been in the boat 6-8-10 years :dono
Been many a year since I've even felt the need (or reason) to have anything to keep count. And nowadays I'm not even sure I'd remember to count them
I got a couple clickers but I never catch enough to use it! :fish
I keep a couple in the boat, though its been awhile since I limited. I do use them though, and I’m superstitious about how and when they get reset to 0. Only on the next trip, when the first fish hits the deck it gets reset. Also have a series of ritual phrases I say for the first, second, and third fish that comes over the rail [emoji16]

Absolutely. I use this type.
ULINE - Shipping Boxes, Shipping Supplies, Packaging Materials, Packing Supplies
Used it on Lake Erie for counting yellow perch to make sure we do not go over the limit. After the perch population crashed in 2015 and I switched to mainly crappie fishing, I use it to keep count of crappie caught. July and August it is a must have. I think the highest we had this year was 208 in July.
I started carrying one just for the heck of it late this summer. We have no limits to worry about here in CT concerning panfish, it's just to satisfy my own curiosity. And I don't judge the success of my trip based on the numbers showing on the darn thing.
Iffn you need a fish counter. I needs to load up and fish with you. Lol
I have used them. I have not cleaned a crappie since 2016 but my late nephew and myself used to fish for crappie together. He loved to eat crappie more than anyone I ever met. Some lakes we fished had a limit of 15 per and some 30 per person. I didn’t want to be over the limit that’s for sure. Many times leaving the lake with 30 or 60 crappie. Fish counters kept us from breaking the law.

I use one for white bass all the time because many times you catch them fast and furious. I seldom use them for crappie because I can keep that count in my head.
I got beads on a rod holder and a counter. Use those plus i keep me versus my partner. ....lol don't judge me lol

I have a clicker that i click for every crappie caught & one for every keeper caught too.
I keep 2 clickers. One for "overs" and one for "unders" on lakes that have limits where you can keep so many over a certain length, and so many under a certain length

There are a lot of good answers and reasonings here. Also some good laughs! Thank you!!

mine from Slabantors website, and have it lashed to my safety vest. Once I start slinging fish into the livewell, kind of hard to keep count. Be a shame to think you have 25, when the Man says 26
never use them is me , I am either in the private lake mode and when the cooler is full we are at a limit or ....when on regulated waters I never box more than around 15 as it is all I want to filet anyway ....way under my 25 limit and no worries ....
btw , I have an ice chest that will hold just about exactly a limit of 11 inch fish , sometimes I use it and only keep larger than that crappie and it automatically counts them for me .....just saying :Rofl
I have one on a lanyard that I use most days. It helps me keep up with how many fish clients have in the live well. Long lining can get fast and furious.

Well I can attest that trying to use "The Force" to keep count doesn't work. I get to slinging Crappie with the two Fly Rods I loose count very quick also with a New Orleans Public Schools education I think I could beat a ticket in court. :Rofl Judge would throw it out as we all can't count, just common knowledge. I do very much like MCG1's attitude or approach, pick your poison. Well Said MCG1!
I tied some of those bead counters ups and put 1 in the boat, but I still use the trusty old clicker counter.+Cross+
I too use a clicker, it hangs on the depth finder bracket on the bow. In reality I only need one that shows a single column, in fact if it just counted to five, I'd usually have a few digits left. LOL
