How's the crappie bite this time of year? Heading down the 18th of September.
Last i heard was that they were 25 feet down just over the creek channel drop in 50 feet of water. Whether that still holds true or not i don't know.
Thanks Les!
I have not been In a while but I did drive down to a ramp the other day and It was full of wave makers and with the water level being so low it will make it hard to get away from them. Better plan on an early start, if they are still out ripping and roaring... But was hearing about some really good night fishing reports in about the same depths les said....
bout time to hit it Hot rod!
We'll be there during the week which should help some with the wave makers! I saw that the water never made it to the normal summer pool this year. I'll need to be careful with trees just below water lines back in the coves. Will be interesting fishing!
Would love to hear a report from your trip. We’re heading out 9/20 to hit Green River for a few days, then to the Land of Cumber. Can’t wait!… Good luck!

Have not been on Cumberland in a few weeks. Have been dealing with some medical issues. Hoping to get back out there soon. Water level and pleasure boats have already been addressed. With cooler weather coming maybe the fish will move shallower. Good fishing on your trip. Let us know how you do.
Wow! :yikes
Sad to say it was a tough week. Either I suck at crappie fishing or the conditions weren't right or both. Tried everything; main lake coves, up the creeks... minnows, hair jigs, soft plastics, etc... Wolf creek was 2-3 degrees cooler than some of the other creeks but only found a few (with some help). The ones we found were 20' deep in 20-25 fow. water temp was 76.5 - 78 something. We did get a guide to catch some stripers on Wednesday. Have some fish fillets in the freezer, but no crappie.
