it pains me to give this advice , but if you want to load up the ice chest , best take some live shiners , the bite is typical summertime stuff and minnows are what is loading up the boxes right now .....

I want let my pride keep me from filling the box. If they want minnows I will give them minnows.
Can’t get hit lately on jigs.. I guess it’s too hot!! Lol. Yes, I bet minnows help but can’t seem to keep ‘em alive on my boat in this heat! Kaboom is the word

I am die hard jig guy but there are some days they want MEAT. When they do and I'm with my minnow boy buddies I switch to what works. wednesday was one of those days and on our honeyhole first drop of jig bigun hit but after that nada. meantime my buddy was killing them on mostly dead minnows from yesterday on a bobber in 3 foot of water while I had cast my jig and pendulumed it back to me in deeper.
IF your focused on ketchn? then you do what works. Later in day on different part of lake it was my jigs they wanted and caught biggest half dozen of day.
never use minnows these days , been quite while since I tried them , terribly easy to ketch crappie on minnows , need a bit of a challenge is me or I get bored , my adhd is about as hardcore as it gets ....:Rofl
