Those hybrids any good to eat?
Yessir they’re good to eat but I released those big fish. Retired engineer told me they changed their hybrid program years back to use female white bass instead of female striper causing smaller fish. Those 25” class has gotten hard to come by he said. I must’ve just lucked into a school of biggins
Gotta trim that bloodline meat off and they’re as good as crappie

A much younger Pappy with some Hybrids from Taylorsville. Pretty sure they were eaten, red meat & all :yikes seeing as how I grew up eating White Bass cooked "whole" (scaled & gutted, no head) by my Grandmother ... and there was no "trimming" of the red meat done by my Grandpa when they were cleaned. :)
That red meat makes me sick to the stomach.

its a very old guide recipe from way back when , we used to load the boat with big stripes and often recommended this to clients ....helps with the fishy part and pretty tasty ....:cheers2Quote:
