SCIENTIFICALLY speaking ....
In this episode of ketchn crappie , I went back to a spot that I had a little bit of success in a few days before this visit . The shade is attractive under the bridge at 106 to 107 outside and to be sure it started off like it should FIRST cast !
a decent black crappie under a float about mid river in the channel .:highfive
put on a fat body pink plastic for this visit .....ketched me 2 crappie in a few casts ,and then 5 or 6 casts later nothing !
I then went to a white plastic and found one more .....
went to a black and chart and NOTHING !:banghead
So in hopes of turning a somewhat same old thing into something better ,,,,put my lil orange and yellow devil back on my jighead ......
NOW mind you this folks , 17 crappie later and a bluegill I was feeling somewhat more accomplished and to be sure at one point it was 5 fish in 5 casts !
My feet never moved from where I started and my depth under the float did not change and the spot I was casting stayed the same !
So even though it is often stated that color doesn't matter , I am pretty sure it can make ALL the difference in the world of the ever elusive capturing of said crappie fish .....
KABOOM is what I do ....:highfive
