Good day of fishing
Took the day off work yesterday and went fishing alone. Had a pretty good day. One really nice blue gill for my area, definitely the nicest one I've caught this year, maybe PB. Caught it on the Diawa presso air ags XUL on varivas lemon line.
This trip is really the first I've used the presso extensively, it's a nicer rod that I initially thought from playing around with it at my pond. A lot of the bites yesterday were really soft, think it helped having a sensitive rod. Even on the Carabus rods I was having to watch the tip for a little bit of a bend to tell it was a bite. Fish wanted the jig slow and deep just above the bottom.

I have the presso air ags in ul and xul. The xul is my favorite rod by far. I have caught some really large fish with it and it handles them beautifully with a ton of fun thrown in. I've caught several hundred crappie including a 2.05lb and 2.84 pounder. Also several large 3 plus pound catfish and a 8.33lb carp. I had a real time with the carp, it took about 15 minutes to land. I like the way the rod bends, whether a bluegill, crappie, or by-catch. It is the rod that ended (my) search for the perfect rod. It has perfect balance with the presso reel, extreme sensitivity, stupid lightweight, nice aesthetics, and is just a pleasure to fish with... I like it so much I bought a second one.
Nice catch btw, and I'm glad you are enjoying it as well !
