In the video he said he scaled them on the dorsal fin side so as not to dull knife on scales...Don't make since to me. But with mamma, it's use a spoon, No cost, they in the drawer...scale gut , head off rinse, pat dry, in the seasoned mixture, in the fryer...
Ketch, it's the best scaler for bream and whole fryers in the world. No effort, no scales flying and cheap, $.99 each

I always used the back of my fillet knife.
Ketchn don’t you know that the wife is always right. As hard as it is just admit that she gave it to you.
Great looking tool!

I use a tablespoon. I thought Slab sent that to you.
Just duct tape a stick on it and use it for a back scratcher bro.

You can get a 2 pack for $12 on amazon or a one pack for $8
PS: by the way I ordered the 2 pack. One for me ,one for my brother. Guess I will give my wife the teaspoon back.
I use a currycomb for horses. We got a lot of horses round here.
I seem to remember you saying that she got you that for your 67th birthday. Are you sure you don’t remember that one ?
I will venture to say I have not scaled a fish in close to 60 years. I do remember dad having something like that , but it was made of metal.
An old fellow who camped out each summer on Lake Texoma , taught me to fillet when I was 10-12 years old. I can not remember scaling a fish
since.
your mileage may vary

Here's my Bicco Scaler. I've had it for 35 years and it just keeps on working.
