Man went out today in lightning, thunder, rain then windy windy day. I bet I pitched to a thousand crappie today that would take my offering, but still was able to snag a few.Attachment 462115

Tell me why I can pitch to them crappies on structure, and they will fly up to your bait, but just will not take it.

thanks happycaster, I changed colors about 20 times, different profiles, went from plastics to feather jigs but still only chased, but one things for sure, I didn’t put on the right color or profile. Did not try scents, or downsize. But you can bet next time I will cover it all, even the dreaded minnows if I have to.Quote:

When I dip bridge columns I start with a 1/16 and a Bobby Garland baby Shad. That usually works for a while but then they shut down, I change to a small jig, sometimes less than a 1/32 and continue to catch fish. They sometimes keep biting for most of the day. It wears on my patience because it takes forever for the small ones to fall.
