Gill day trip

Been bass fishing my last few trips out and took a break from that and got out early yesterday for some bluegill fishing using my standard mini duck jigs and rigged one of the two rods with a Bison trout magnet on the other. Caught around 20 or so and catch was about 50/50 between the two baits although I used the magnet more to give it a fair shake. Lakes are low and we really need some rain. I have two 7' Shimano Soare BB and both made the trip today. My favorite ultralight by far. Stella C200S on one and NASCI C2000S on the other. Favorite technique is tiny jigs an inch or even smaller long fished under a 3/4" weighted float from 1-4 foot deep. Jigs are tipped with piece of a Berkley power wiggler. Same scent as a crappie nibble but they don't dry out. Lot's of fry in the water now so throwing a size bait that matches or resembles what they are eating will get it done.

I’d like to handle one of the affordable Presso or Soare rods sometime. Might never buy one but everyone seems to really like em.

I’d like to hold one of those Daiwa Presso Air AGS rods , but doubt if I’d every put that much into a rod I might not even like .

The AGS are a little high for me but folks seem to like em. The ones I looked at were near $350.

Only paid $120 for the Soares five years ago and still my favorite even though it was cheaper than all my other JDM rods. Soft sensitive tip with some backbone, short hand grip, especially for a 7' rod and the longer length protects light line very well. It's the perfect rod for me.
