Fishing the Lunakia 6' 3" Light Game Rod
Awesome day fishing the Little Red River. A few on a pink TM but the rest on a Root Beer Float on a 1.5 gram Gekkabijin jig head #8 hook. Had more fun than the law should allow! Low flow today made the conditions just right for a Trout Magnet. Used the Lunakia 6'3" rod which made for a a whole lot of fun...reel was a Zenon 2000SH spooled with 3# test Varivas Twitch Master nylon with a section of Phantom FC leader in 2# test. Been a long while since I could get on the river...flows have been way too high. Really put the Lunakia through the paces today. The rod really is an all rounder...gave me plenty of fun on smaller fish yet had the butt to handle larger fish. Sensitivity is off the charts good....but do we expect anything less from a made in Japan TenRyu. Of course US fly fisherman have been using TenRyu rods for years. I was only able to fish in 3 distinct holes.....water too low to go upstream or downstream. In a little less than 3 hours brought 40 trout to the net...most in the 11-12 inch range, but had several in the 13-15 inch range. Life is good and getting better!
