All spinning reels for me but I dont ever pull crank baits.
I use Okuma Magda Pro 30 Dxl’s pulling cranks.
Okuma spinning reels
Spinning reels also for me. Different sizes but mostly smaller type 1-3 barring. :biggrin
I use line counter baitcasting reels. Once you know the line out/depth numbers, you can increase your accuracy and put baits in the right place every time.

I use baitcasters, left over from my days of bass fishing. I tried spinning reels, but changed back to baitcasters.
I use Daiwa Lexa depth counter reels, 15lb. braid and a monofilament leader.
Okuma Magda 15's & Shakespeare ATS 20's are on my long rods for Pushing jigs/cranks. I started with baitcast reels and they worked "Okay" ... it was just a pain to have to pull out line by hand to get the baits back to the distance needed. Line Counter reels take that out of the picture ... all you do with them is put the bait in the water and let the line freespool until you get it to the number on the counter that you want.
10# mono diameter is the "calibration" diameter for Line Counter reels. Two of my reels have 30/10 braid, while the other three have 10-20# mono ... all leaders are (3ft) 6# mono for jigs & (5ft) 8# mono for cranks. 1oz trolling weights are used for jigs - 2oz trolling weights are used for cranks. Jig Pushing speed is 1mph avg - Crank Pushing speed is 1.5 to 1.8mph avg.
I used the trolling chart arithmetic to determine depth of baits : every 5ft below surface = 3ft of bait depth (or multiply length of line out below surface by 0.6) with your lines running close to a 45deg angle.
That's just how I was taught, so I did it that way. :biggrin For as long as I've used this equipment & depth factoring, it's worked just fine. I've gotten away from Pushing ever since I got Livescope ... but, IF/WHEN Pushing is the thing to be doing, Livescope will just be a greater help in keeping me out of the brushpile forests. :ThumbsUp
Similar approach here, CP. Okuma Magda 15's but I predominantly pull vs. push so I'm using 9' ProAnglers primarily because I like a bit more backbone for when I'm pulling planer boards + 1oz trolling weights + cranks.
I'll start pulling @ 1.5mph and use the Precision Trolling app to determine how much line I need out to get to my desired depth with the particular crank I'm running.
For anyone pushing or pulling, remember that it's not just the amount of line your reel says you have out, it's the amount of line from when your line hits the water to the bait. Depending on the angle/length of your rods, you could have 7-10' of line out of the water and if you're figuring that into your line counter reel as "live" line, you might be running 1-2' above your target depth (depending on speed).
It's art and science but very, very productive (and fun) when you dial it in.
