That’s a tough one, I’ll have to think a bit to know for sure, but I’ve sure caught lots of fish on a Gray Ghost.
80% of my jigs are plain so I will go with that.

Chartreuse probably catches more for me than anything. Shad color when the water's clear.

As long as it tipped with a minnow it doesn't matter a whole lot to me. I do see a difference between bare jig with a minnow versus spinner with a minnow. If no minnows in my boat it must be crank bait season. I'm sure not what your looking for as far as an answer, but during certain times a year I like meat on a hook. I do prefer chartreuse, black, and a orange head for my OCD.

I have to say that after much thought, I can’t have just one. Even my gray ghost shows up with some white or chartreuse in the tail. I also catch a lot of fish on blue ice, and now I dye the tip of those with flourescent yellow spike it. And a real oddball by most folks standards is Bobby Garlands iced tea with lemon. Yellow body and a light brown tail. Whodathunk? Crappie love the yellow body and the gills just love it. Period. Sorry to screw up the thread but that’s my story.

1 jig or 1 color? I try not to get too caught up in colors as I have made so many and seems like crappie really don't care. I've thrown some wild colors in conditions you wouldn't think they'd bite it and they do.
But if I had to choose and only had one jig would be this hands down as it has netted me some fish. Might just be that it's my favorite and go to.
