I built this one with scraps I picked up off the side of the road. Its a little top heavy, will have to add a stabilizer to the bottom before I sink it so it won't tip sideways.

Have ya been catching fish by these plastics I have 25 made fixing to set them out also I have some of Jerry Blakes Condos ready they look very good
Eyes the smoker in the background, hmmmmm, nice tree by the way
Big George, I set my first condo out two weeks ago and have not had a chance to really fish them. Ive had trouble with my boat motor and just got it back. I test ran my motor yesterday and went over a couple of my condo's and I was showing fish on my graph.
Hey Fatboy, I have some chicken breast marinading as we speak.
I have four racks of ribs, two boston butts and two whole fryer hens on the smoker as we speak. Seems like we both have the same idea.
Now this is creative.....
Smoking is no art form Tom, now building a robot who catches fish.........
I think if you had turned everything up the other way you will have less trouble with hanging up.
I like it. Also I have a motor like that and sure is quite and does not burn any gas.
2 sides of baby back ribs and 10 lbs of chicken on the smoker today. Sure was a good supper.
Would a condo like that but say 4 ft high and 4 poles work?
Pete
my fishing buddy drives a garbage truck. Talk about a resource for crappie condo material!! Here is our latest condos. Built out of some kind of pvc flexible pipe he found.
that is how we are suposed to recycle.
I like the PVC pipe. I think that is a great idea because you wont ge snaged on it.
David, now that's what im talking about. Those look good, those will be there for a long time. Im in the process of building several condos made out of everything I can think of. I have some that are 2 feet tall all the way to 20 feet tall.
Pete, I have been doing some research and from what I understand is that if you place structure where there is none then crappie will hold to it. I'm sure some will work better than others. I bet the shorter versions would work also, I just think the more structure the better.
I'm new to building condo's so if someone has a picture of a different kind I would like to see a picture of it.
Those condos look great. My father and I just began to put four crappie condos together. I will post pics from when I put them in the water. We are making ours out of pvc and it looks like a tree. With 2 1/2 ft pvc branches and it is 5 ft tall. I have a question, will most fish finders be able to pick up pvc pipe? I assume so, but just wanted to ask.
Thanks RLR I guess I will try to find a spot that does not have a lot of cover on it. But that may be hard to do here on Pickwick lake

Pete here is a shorter condo that I made.
About the 25 Yamaha, they are fine motors, I really enjoy mine. Ive had mine two years and the plugs just fowled out, I thought the four strokes wasn't going to fowl plugs but they do.
Searcy, the pvc shows up on my fish finder, post a picture when you finish, would like to see what your building.
Thanks for the pictures of the short ones.
Mine 25 is 3 years old, And never changed the plugs in it. Got a new set 2 years ago. And there still in the box.

Pete, the spark plugs take a 18mm socket, I had to buy a thinner socket because the one I had was too fat to reach the sparkplug, just a heads up.
Them condos look like some kind of "hippie" art. Or something Fred Sanford would fish around. But if they work I reckon I can't judge. I shall call them Lamont's Artesan Condos or A Sanford Crappie Housing Project from now on. :D
Today it is raining in Arkansas. So that means time to put out the condos. :D
Yes it takes a thin socket. But there's 2 sizes also. My motor has the standard size. Don't ask me why. Dealer did not figure that one out.Quote:

Hey RLR,
Save your energy and materials. We're gonna get the factory opened asap. For where we fish I don't think you're gonna need them that tall. I look forward to meeting you and getting the assembly line up and running.
My might just add a float like a pop bottle to the top and it will just settle into the bottom over time. Works for me. If I put wood out, I fill the top of a plastic milk jug with canned foam including the handle. If I tie good knots, they stay upright for years. The one gallon oil jugs are even tuffer but wash em out good first. Seeya, Don
I make them and use the same things yall use trees, bambo, pvc, and use the same method of sinking them but how long do you think they will stand up. I don't they will verry long.

One man's trach is another mans treasure.
You have inspired me
We have built and sunk similar trees. To keep them standing, we put four holes in the side of the bucket at the bottom, and then stick rebar or pipe in them. Then fill with concrete. This usually works pretty well for stabilizing
