I’ve just finished the second build in a few weeks. I live close to mudhole and bought a 5’6” one piece rated for 2 to 6lb line. Liked the finished rod so much I went back and bought another in 6’. The first one I kept as light as possible within means and I believe it came in around two ounces. Used stainless guides with high frames and might have used more runner guides than most folks would but I like the way the line stays parallel to the rod. Casting is very good and it shoots wonderfully, I do a lot of that where I fish among the trash. I put a President XY with some 2lb unitika pe that was given to me and I love the stuff. Sensitivity is very good, above my expectations.
The six foot got different colors and another light approach and not quite as light as the other. Also one piece and 2-6lb rated, the coating is barely dry. I’m not going to show pics til later after the reel comes in. I bought a Daiwa Regal LT 1000S for it and I’m going to try the trout master uls on it, my first shallow spool reel and probably, knowing me, not my last. I’ll post more on it in a little while. Here’s the 5’6” pics.
