Caught this little fella on Wheeler this morning in the rain. Can anyone ID this? I’m torn between what it actually is.

I think smallmouth. The color around the gill and speckles near the tail are interesting. If the eyes were red I'd say red eye but here I think smallmouth

If it's not a hybrid, I guess I'd go with green sunfish. But, the sunfish do hybridize pretty frequently, I think.
Just call it a bream. Then you can't be wrong. ;)
Warmouth

a baby one of these !
we always called em warmouth or goggle eye!
Warmouth
Pretty little critter
Thanks fellas. Warmouth was my first guess, but I wasn’t 100% sure. I was torn between it and a green sun fish. There’s so many different fish in this body of water and i love it.

Before I read any of the replies I'd already said warmouth. Could be something else though........
Warmouth. They fight well and eat good too!!
Warmouth/Google eye...I bet It pulled like a sack of hammers. Give the moon another 30 days and hit that area for some blue gill action.

Goggle eye/warmouth. Green sun perch and rock bass are similar.
