All Done
Finally found the time to put a few dressings on the rod last night, along with the coating that turned overnight. Turned out nice but the finish over the rod info sticker could’ve been a bit better. I fished it last weekend and it was all I hoped it to be. Good sensitivity and lightweight makes it a pleasure in the hand. Not real fancy but here she is, and thanks for lookin….Skeet

Chaser, if it’s the 500s I need to go and look. I use mostly braid and I’m looking for the shallow spool version.
RJR, yes it is. The model is a 20XT and while it’s nice I feel it’s on a par with the regular 20’s which I have a few of. I need to open it and clean the grease out of it and replace it with something different.

Great craftsmanship skeet, and a true U/L beauty. On to a christening!

I just realized how bad I’ve got this syndrome we’re all afflicted with. The thoughts running through my head is to just the the Pres XT on it and pick up a 1000s Presso and then looking for a rod to go with it. I have a Diawa Capricorn that has to be around twenty years old and was the smoothest reel I’ve ever owned to date. The Regal 1000 that I have is also sweet but it takes a back seat to it but just barely. Being a 1500 the Capricorn fits the 6’6” rod it’s on so well and will put a 1/16 jig almost into the next county. I’ve been impressed with it from day one, and I’m looking for another like that. Stripers, largemouth, catfish and other surprise fish have been handled smartly and without issue from the gear. I’m still stewing about it and haven’t decided yet but the money just got right so I’ll do something soon. I welcome any and all input you have to offer, and thanks for all the good words about this new build of mine.
