Wtg Eric,,, lookin good!
Is that red/orange squirrel tail? If so, where did you get it?
Very nice. Eric does that extra parashute coming out of the neck...seem to make it more effective? Have seen it before but never tried it.
I like em

I can’t do my kind of detail work w/o glasses. LOL. Great work my friend
tlefire, theirs 2 places here in Springfield, Mo. White River (fly tying shop) in Bass Pro, and a shop just down the street with a much larger selection called Plateau Fly Shop, which does online sales as well. You can also get squirrel tails at Jann's Netcraft bottom left of pg 113 in the 2022 catalog. I haven't gotten the most recent one yet. All three places you can order from the internet. Most any fly shop, either brick and mortar or online should have it. Hope this helped. Eric
ksnouf, that parachute is actually considered a wing, or belly. I honestly don't know, to tell you the truth. But it can't hurt non. I have watched videos of Kendall Fredrick down in Louisianna, single pole fishing the pads and grass with this style and catching good sized crappie with them. So, I'm giving them a whirl up here in Missouri.
Within the last couple of years I've gotten where I need glasses to read or view up close. I even bought a pair of glasses just to leave with my vise. I've heard it happens to almost everyone in their 40's.
Another night playing at my vice. Here's what I've done so far...dry and wetAttachment 452619Attachment 452620

Looks good. Really like how it looks when wet.
That wet picture really has a great profile Eric. I think the wings do the same for a jig or fly. I just started tying mouse flies and found when wet they have a better profile.
Very nice flies. Have you had a chance to try them out?
Looking GOOD!!!!
I think I might have caught the color shine in the jig body...tap on pic and make it larger. Sorry for it being small in the pic.Attachment 452714

Added a couple more to the box tonight. I'm taking it with me tomorrow with momma. 10% chance of rain, and Temps in the 70's. Umbrella just in case, but we need to go fishin'. Too long hangin' around the house and healing. Think the fresh air and relaxation will be good for her...will have to stop and get some minnows for her, but I'm good...Attachment 452936

Thank you. I took rayon chenille and Pearl chenille and after tying them on twisted the two together pretty tight then wrapped. didn't have the color tail I wanted but had white. So tried something new to me and colored with a sharpie. Just need to make sure and let it dry really good before going fishing. we'll see how it holds up in a day or two. Momma's gonna go see the new grand baby for a week, so I know they'll get wet then.

Oh yeah, those look good.
The pink in both are the same, the one on the left has the pearl chenille twisted in...and a few pearl N pepper rubber legs added in.
