I am not sure, but in my mind there's only two things to cause this. One the transducer leaving the water, and electric current interruption. That's my thoughts. If the connections are clean and tight, battery has enough juice, could be a problem in the wire itself. I would check all connections first, and if that didn't fix the problem then take a multi-meter and check the continuity of the wiring...before I went and forked out the dollars for another (dedicated) battery.
