Nice
An "eye". cool, great eating, same flakey white meat as crappie.
They are around Crappie a lot in the spring. I Catch most of mine on a crappie jig.
Great eating fish. Congrats.
very nice
I’ve never caught one either
Yep, been there & done that. And to say I was surprised at the time would be an understatement. Even caught a couple of their "cousins" (saugeye) too ... (one keeper size & one dink ... dink pictured below)

Walleye are great eating but I love me some northern pike. Attachment 451403
Never have targeted them but have caught quite a few. All caught on UL rods 2” test line. The big one weighed in at 8.25 pounds. I have caught and ate plenty of crappie…walleye. But unlike many who think those two specie are the best table fare, neither of them are my favorite fish to eat. Over the past 6 years or so have brought about 2000 crappie to the net each year…haven’t eaten a crappie since 2016 I think it was. Just enjoy catching them.

We only have one lake in Texas that have Walleyes. I'm in Dallas and the closest spot for me is Broken Bow Oklahoma. I have never seen or caught one but I have always been told how tasty they are. They are on my bucket list.
congrats on the pike fish , and of course KABOOM too :highfive
