Nice thanks for taking the time to share
Good job Eric.
Buckeye, I'll wait till tomorrow morning to put the two-part epoxy on them to finish them up. need to get some different colors of the Holographic vinyl sheeting for the back ground on the eyes. Maybe some red, chartreuse, and orange...These are 3/16" or 5mm.
Ok...I tried an experiment on 12 of the eyes, and as seen, didn't turn out so well. Learned not to use 5 min. Epoxy, as it leaves the eyes cloudy at best...Others were done with UV Resin from HobbyLobby. Attachment 451073Attachment 451074

Yeah the epoxy eyes are blurry sort of like me at 3:30 in the mornings....lol.
Are you punching the eyes out of cardstock? If so, what are you using for the different sizes?
Thanks

The eyes are being cut out of cricut Holographic Vinyl. This roll is blue. I picked it up at walmart a while back. To punch them out, I'm using a punch set I picked up at harbor freight, for around $6 I think they were. The set goes from 1/8th" to 1/2" with a total of 9 pc.'s.. The Larger one buy it self, Which I'm doing now, is made with a regular paper hole punch from the School supply area...Just when using it have the paper side up when punching them out. Otherwise it wont work right. Pic's of the tools to follow.
Here's what I'm using. The punch set (3/16), paper punch ( for a slightly larger eye), Exactly knife, straight pin ( those are used to put the disc on the tape to hold it), scissors to cut the vinyl to size and if using the paper punch, trim the cut material out the way). Also included a PC of the vinyl label. The pupil is acrylic craft paint, and when that's good and dry, I'm applying UV Resin over the whole top of the eye and setting it with a UV Light of coarse. Hope this helped you out.
As you can see, the first couple times, don't expect them to be like store bought. But with practice you'll get better. But hey, fish wind up with messed up eyes in nature, so go ahead and use them...just sayin.Attachment 451081Attachment 451082

Oh ya, the tape I'm using is painters tape over a HD paint stirring stick. I fold the ends under to stick to the wood leaving the sticky side up to hold the back side of the eye. The vinyl has a paper backing, leave it on, punch the backing out but leave the paper backing here. This way when the eye is finished, you can peel the eye up easily from he paper instead of trying to peel two glued edges part.

I like them
Thanks Dave, going to make some of different colors and different colored pupils...
Beautiful and creative work!
Thank you Buckeye...Still need a bit more practice though to be honest...
Those pupils eyes are great. What if they glowed in the dark? :dono
Yes Sir, the Chartreuse pupils is called Glow Yellow by Anita's all purpose craft paints. With the UV light, the paint shows real bright, but dims a lot with the UV Resin on top of it...
Here's the paint. Evidently made by Rust-Oleum Corporation...Attachment 451207Attachment 451208

These are the eyes I made a day or two ago. 1/16 Oz ball head I flattened the sides on a bit with some flat smooth jawed pliers before attaching them. A small drop of super glue to attach, then coated with UV Resin. Set with a UV flashlight. Needs some sunlight to finish hardening...Attachment 451441Attachment 451442Attachment 451443
