According to the guys that fished it during the crappie expo said it was slap full of big crappie!
Yes, I heard that at the Expo. But I think most of the crappie are caught in the James River arm, which is 20 to 40 miles from my dock down by the dam.Quote:

I’ve fished the rock my entire life. If I had to fish down by the dam I would be shooting docks. I would avoid near any dam on any lake being that typically is the clearest water on any body water. Since you’re down that way I would recommend spending your time anywhere near cricket creek. It can be just as good as James! Fish timber in deep water for black crappie fish mud flats for white crappie. That’s the entire lake in a nutshell to me. Good luck man. Wouldn’t hurt to hang brush under your dock as well. Lots of it.

I fished the EXPO was surprised by the amount of crappie ( and nice ones ) in Tablerock ... Would most defiantly concentrate on upper James river
I grew up at LoZ. It was our belief that the days of good fishing were long gone.
Turns out, fish don’t come to you.
You gotta go where the fish are.
I think trailering was hands down the best thing I’ve done to improve my catch.
Docks and lifts are nice, but they’re also a lot like a tether.
I live 30 min from table rock, fished it for years, James/flat creek are good, but real busy, as stated before docks are nice, cricket creek is nice, get the MDC structure map/ ie brush pile map, hit them brush piles. Oh and I hate table rock, so I fish stockton lake. good luck and welcome aboard.
I live just a few mins from several ramps on lower end of Truman... almost always drive to upper river arms ( either Grand or Osage ). Much better fish then lower lake ! Thumbs up on traileringQuote:

Try Cleavenger Cove and Indian Point. Nice size crappie being caught around docks.
