Sweet!
Congrats, you will love it.
Big learning curve after tying with a stationary type jig vise like my Regal..but it looks fast in someone else’s hands,,,lol
First thing I’ll need is one of those fancy automatic bobbins,,,,then a trash bucket for sure,,,,might have to change over a few others things as well as I go along here,,,,it’s going to be a long relationship I see already,,,lol
I actually thought about getting a regal because I love the jaws but I hate the price on them.
Dave,,, there’s another company that makes an automatic bobbin besides Norvise called Ekich.com.
you can use regular thread without having to wind,,,,great bobbin from what I’ve seen
Ekich is the name automaticbobbin.com is the website. Thanks Andy!
Ekich Ultimate Fly Tying Bobbins
:yikes I just saw the price….. nonono not for me my friend.
The plastic version is only $100… that’s $20 a week or no pizza on fridays for a month,,,lol
Nice looking setup.
Thanks brother Todd,,,,mahalo
I picked up a Danevise off Ebay a couple months back for a great deal. The tip of the jaws is a little dinged up hampering gripping smaller hooks. The difference though between it and the vise that was included in the fly-tying kit I started with is so nice. I'm tying from size 14 to 1/0. I find the constant jaw adjusting to be kind of a pain, especially with the jaw dings. I'm going to the NW Fly Tying Expo next month. I have hopes of playing with a Regal Revolution, Peak and others.
Sweet Todd,,,,I own a Regal medallion type vise and it’s been a great vise, mon,y issue is that it’s not a rotary vise and the hang.e that opens the vise for your hook is rather hard to squeeze, after a few hooks your ready for a break,,,hurts my tendions in my palm,,,,
I also now own a Norvise which is really nice but you have to adjust jaws each time you change hook size, very fast though being a true rotors,,,I’ve yet to learn all the tricks it can do,,,,I picked it up used on Facebook page used for $275 with board,,,it’s like new condition,,,I am very pleased,,,
You got a sweet deal my friend:cheers2
Awesome.
