Perhaps the sizes will improve. Lot of small fish last year. Hoping they growed a 1/4 inch over the winter but maybe not.
I’ve been saying the same thing for the past 3-4 years about Taylorsville.
They should increase the creel to 25.
Keep the first 15 that are 10 and under and the next 10 have to be over 12.
Never happen but just a thought.
The place is overrun with short fish.

100% :hesaid
I wonder if it’s pressure or is it an over abundance of the population keeping them from getting bigger or some other variable?

No idea
I have caught thousands that are 9.78 inch. It seems to be a 1 to 10 ratio. Some days even more and I don’t stay on a school very long.
Plenty of bait fish.
Crappie on almost every piece of cover.
Got me stumped.
Only thing I can say about Taylorsville is that it is a great place to learn Livescope.

You back in town and ready to fish?

Maybe they should change the size limit from 10+ to 10-. Keep the little ones and let the big ones spawn.
Back when the size limit was 9" (for me) it was the same story. Catch 50 ... keep 5-10 ... most throwbacks were 8.75" long. Then along comes a couple years where 11-13" fish showed up & it was crazy good, then the size limit got bumped to 10" and we're back to square one.
I remember when most of the Crappie you'd catch at Taylorsville were <8" long and so thin you could practically see thru them. Fast forward a decade or two and they got better, then a decade or so later they got good (but still mostly shorts), then the Slabs showed up & the size limit got bumped. I'm just hoping it don't take another decade for things to improve.
I didn't fish T-ville at all last year, opting to drive the extra 30mins to fish Green.
Hey CP,
Is the size limit at Green 9 or 10?
Creel limit 15 or 25?
I have often thought about driving the extra distance.
Thanks
Chuck

The 9 inchers on green are thin too. As far as catching fish Greens fun but if somebody's like me & doesn't know specifically how to target the bigger fish it ain't the place to plan a fish fry on. :Rofl It's a great place to catch fish & learn livescope though. I like cumberlands crappie way better but i guess anybody that crappie fishes there does too. On the days that we do get on the better fish green's really fun.
Les,
It is really hard to give up Taylorsville because of the abundance of fish. There are so many places on the lake that I haven’t fish yet. If Green is also FULL of fish I will probably just hang in there at the Ville. I have caught some good fish there.
I know they have to be there.
At my age I don’t like to drive much anymore.
I only live 5 minutes from the ramp here on the Ohio river and I will fish it more this year. I caught several good ones on the river last year and I know they aren’t pressured like most lakes.
